Slieve Croob Enduro
Dromara Cycling Club is holding its enduro race on 30 July 2022 at Slieve Croob. This is the second year for the event which is again being supported by Mech Monkey.
The event takes place on private ground with landowner permission for race day only.
The race consists of 3 timed stages consisting of natural open mountain and are mostly gravity orientated. The lap including transitions and stages are approximately 16-24km. Stage times will be added together for a total time that will decide positions in each category.
Transitions are a mixture of trail and road and are NOT timed. Riders can make their way to the next stage at their own pace. Keep in mind there will be a time limit to complete your efforts. The important bits are the descents! There will be more technical A lines (for the experts) marked along with easier B line options.
We are using the most reliable, non contact timing system available so riders can focus on the fun part – SportIdent. Specific information will become available to competitors via email, social media and a briefing on the run up to the event.
The now normal one day blind race format means that riders do not get to practice in advance, but can attempt the stages multiple times as they like before the cut-off time (usually around two attempts per stage).
The technical standard of stages is on a par with other regional and national Enduro competitions.
The minimum age is 14. The competitors must have valid Cycling Ireland (C.I.) competitive licence, or purchase a one-day licence.
