Davison Keeps His Cool
The 2019 Dromara Enduro Championship took place on Sunday 8th March 2020 a few months later than planned.
Enduro generally involves downhill timed sections followed by longer untimed climbs that bring you to the next stage. The winner is the quickest time overall for all the stages.
The venue in the East of the province provided us with 4 trails with competitors completing each trail twice to complete 8 stages overall.

13 riders took to the start line, all riders were focused keen to see how the winter training had gone as the new season approached. The stages were short but they had plenty of technical sections for those good enough to attack the racing line.
3 Hours after the first Stage started the last rider crossed the finish line. Fastest on the day was former club member Drew Armstrong who was consistently fast all day.
Peter Davison won the Dromara Championship from 2nd Ben Wilson and 3rd Scott Nelson.
Peter proved the most consistent and made very few mistakes, Ben made a mistake on the last berm on stage 4 that cost him time and ultimately 1st place. Scott had a great 3rd spot and showed most of the young lads how it is done.
On international women’s day Wannita Broome flew the Flag and attacked the course the only way she know’s how. Paul McLean and Richie Carey had their own battle all day, with Paul getting the edge by the smallest of margins each stage much to Richie’s frustration.
Everyone was pleased to see Cameron McCusker back in action after a spell injured, he returned with the usual smile across his face. Most importantly he finished the race without any recurrence of the old injury and he put in some good stage times.
Unfortunately as the riders crossed the line on the last stage the heavens opened and everyone scarpered to their cars. The prize giving and the bacon baps were put on hold for another day.
