DCC Race team head to Slade Valley Enduro
Slade Valley in the Wicklow mountains was the venue for this weekends Gravity Enduro round. The persistent rain running up to the event produced some tough conditions in Slade valley, with mud and wet roots causing problems for all the riders.
Peter Davison fought hard in the pro category to cruise home with an excellent 7th place. Scott Nelson has been training hard over the last few weeks and used it to full effect to finish 3rd in Masters B but more importantly, cheekily sneaking an overall win over team mate and rival, Richie Carey. Richie has also been training hard and showing that Mcquaid Personal training is paying off, but unfortunately the wet conditions kept him just off the podium with a 5th place finish in Masters A.
The vets category is the biggest and most competitive category at the gravity enduro events. Paul McLean said he “struggled on the day to make any impression on the day to finish in a disappointing 18th”. Although 18th in a category of 48 starters is still a decent result.
All in all a muddy slippy weekend but great fun all round. Roll on next weekend where the DCC race team take on Ravensdale at the Irish championships.
