MTB race update – Ticknock

Sunday 2nd June saw the 3^rd round of the National Cross-Country series, hosted by MAD MTB at Ticknock MTB Centre in Dublin. Dromara was represented by Andra Hamilton (S2), Paul Hamilton (S3), Graham Smyth (S3), Michael Foley (S3) and Peter Davison (S2).

First off was Andra who was having a great run until the 2^nd lap when she picked up a rear wheel puncture. She still managed to run herself and the bike to the finish for a well-earned 5^th position.

Next up were the S1, S2 and S3 racers. S2 had four laps and S3 had three. Paul and Graham both battled near the top of the leaderboard for the first 2 laps. On the final circuit Paul took advantage of the front markers in S1 and made the pass on Graham to come home in 5^th with Graham close behind in 6^th. Michael had three steady laps on a demanding, technical course to finish in 30^th position.

Peter Davison took on the S2 class and, despite not being gridded on the start and getting caught up in the first single tract section, had a great ride to work his way through to 3^rd place and onto the podium.
