Dromara CC Prize Giving
The Christmas season was officially kicked off on Friday 7th at the Dromara CC Christmas dinner and end of season awards night. The Temple Golf club was our chosen venue for this year, and I think everyone agreed the food and service were both excellent, as was the venue itself. Members and their guests were treated to a lovely 3 course festive meal, after which our esteemed Secretary Martin Grimley dispensed the awards for the year, which were as follows:

After the cycling competition awards had been handed out, there were two further presentations. Gary Gibson was awarded the perpetual “Tailwind Award” for his outstanding contribution to the club, mainly for his efforts in arranging and leading the club road rides each Saturday, week in, week out. Martin Grimley himself was then surprised and delighted to receive a one-off award from the club in recognition and thanks for his dedication and devotion to all aspects of Dromara Cycling Club over a period spanning more than 10 years.
After the awards had been completed, members enjoyed the craic well into the evening, accompanied by tunes from the DJ. As usual, some of the members (yes, the usual suspects!) took the opportunity to throw a few shapes on the dance floor.
All in all, I think it is fair to say a fine evening was had by everyone. The club committee would like to thank all the members and their guests who attended. Congratulations also to all the prize winners for their achievements.
