Every Second Counts as Mullan is fastest at Pheasant TT
The 10 mile TT is an easy event to do you just go as hard as you can to the turn go even harder on the way back. Weight, Clip on bars, aerodynamic helmets, disc wheels, skin suits in fact anything that might just gain you that extra second. Nathan Mullan proved that having a fast set of legs helps as well as he smashed the 24mins for this tough TT and set the fastest time of the night. Brandon Douglas from west down wheelers wasn’t far behind with an tremendous time of 24:08. The push for third fastest was very close with David Dickson and Jack Ferguson recording exactly the same time and debating where they lost a few seconds. However it was Fergal Magee from Apollo who would pip both lads by a mere 5 seconds.
All in all there were some great performances out there as it was clear to see that many have been out secret training. Many thanks to marshals and time keepers who stepped up to make this event happen. Chris Magowan made some excuse about having to go practice something and couldn’t make his last TT as a bachelor. This Saturday Chris will be getting married to Beverley so all at Dromara CC wish them both all loads of happiness on their new journey together. Chris would like it stated that he does not have any bike stuff for sale next week as he tells me he is pretty sure Bev was joking about that.
Finally before you see the results and photos we would like to wish Nathan Mullan all the very best at the National Road Race at Wexford this Sunday. I stand corrected on this but I am told that he is the only Dromara CC cyclist that has made it to the start line of the National Road Race. The field looks full of quality so I’m guessing it will be a tough race once the flag goes down on Sunday at 11am.
