In the U6 race Rylee Broome battled through the muck to complete the tough course. Aoife Kellett but in a strong performance to take 6th place in a very competitive U8’s race. Lexie Broome produced a super ride to take a 9th place in the U10 girls race with James Armstrong producing his best ride this season with a brilliant 6th place and a mere 2 seconds of a top 5 finish. Benjamin Quigley continues to battle hard in the U12 boys race picking up a 20th place finish. In the boys U14’s race Fraser Harrower had a brilliant ride in one of the toughest categories to take 8th place. Ben Wilson is still showing that he might be the youngest in the category but still has the heart of a lion as the race for the podium positions. When the dust finally settled he just missed out on 4th place in the final sprint.
All in all a great day out for the Junior section of Dromara CC. Great to see everyone enjoying themselves and showing the Dromara CC Spirit.

In the MTB Support race Andra Ungureanu produced a great ride to to take 4th lady home. The pressure was on for Neil Armstrong to produce a strong showing in the MTB support race as son James showed how it was done earlier. The good news for Neil was that he took a top 10 finish with Colin McGready not too far behind in 14th.
Wannita Broome and Diane Wilson took to the start of the Ladies CX race with bad luck hitting Wannita as she picked up a puncture. Diane who is improving at every race managed to pick up 7th place in one of the biggest female cyclocross races of the season.
The B race saw 8 Dromara men take to the start line with Mike Barton the first casualty of a puncture to end his race. Brian Wilson produced a great race to take 9th place with Adi Booth and Robert Davison hot on his heels taking 17th and 22nd. Paul McLean(26th), Gibson Chambers(32nd), John Shanks(38th) and Bryce Hetherington(39th) proved that Dromara still have a strong team considering there were 97 starters of the B race. Its all getting very competitive in this B race.

The A race saw Richard Cowan, Davy Broome, Peter Davison and Barry Kellett take to the start line in what was expected to be a very fast race. The racing certainly didn’t disappoint as Barry took the lead on the second lap and never let it go again holding Graham Boyd off by a mere 8 seconds. Peter Davison didn’t get gridded and needed to battle through the crowd for 16th place and take the first U23 rider. Davy Broome and Richard Cowan finished 32nd and 43rd to complete a very tough race.
Next week will be Seacourt in Larne and rumours there might be some rain on their way should excite some and worry others.
