With the first days of Summer finally arriving the silage men were out in force so I suppose you cant win on a busy road. The perfect weather meant that the shiny bikes had a little extra sparkle about them. As always several members (Kevin W, Ivan B, John W, Darren McC, Eddie D, Neil A, Michael C) sacrificed their ride to marshal the event and Anahilt crossroads saw some top quality marshalling only to be matched by the marshals at the turn. The time keepers are clearly getting younger with Matt A and Nathan M running the show with fabulous precision that I am sure they are will be welcomed back to do this role anytime they want. First class amrshalling is hard to come by so many many thanks.
Nothing beats arriving at a TT expecting it to be 10 miles only to find out you get an extra 6 miles free of charge. The night would show that there seem to be some distinct groups with the first group all going sub 38mins and visitor Paul Caroll taking the honours of the fastest time of the night in 35mins 24secs. The first DCC rider was Chris M who clearly had the bit between his teeth to beat brother Gavin by 17secs and the only DCC man to go sub 37mins.
The Juniors were out in force with Matthew G showing a bit of form to beating Jack and Aaron, it looks like the top junior is going to be fairly competitive this year. The ladies had their own battle with Wannita B flashing her new steed and complaining about her bike mechanic, apparently “you just cant get the staff these days”. In a very close finish the ever improving Emma J managed to pip Wannita by a mere 4 secs.
As discussed in an earlier post the TT’s bikes, disc wheels and skin suits are appearing right through the field. In fact yet again my sources tell me that new TT bikes have arrived ready for unveiling. Next week I am expecting a smoke and cat walk show before we start. For those of us on road bikes at least we can say “If only I had a TT bike id be doing sub 20mins for 10miles…I would….honest I would”

Results can be found below and the handicap system had a hiccup but has now all been rectified. A full update on points and league positions to come next week once my stat fairy gets it double checked and stops polishing his new disc wheel.
Finally All the Best the Matthew Armstrong as he heads to Donegal to take part in the Ras Dhun na nGall.
