A little something new for the Club League this week with Dromara CC using the TVR Open TT at Warrenpoint. The initial date for this was just before the coastal to allow everyone time to get out and mark the course but alas dates change and the club league committee thought it would be nice to have a week that didn’t require marshals or Martin G (a night off – he is spoilt). The other reason is that Dromara CC have yet to put on a 10m TT that is flat in fact we don’t do flat TT’s. The question had been left unanswered as to what could the TTer’s produce on a flat course.
Well the answer was some frighteningly quick times with young Nathan Mullan producing a stunning time of 21mins and 30 seconds.

With Nathan the only Dromara rider to go under 22mins the next fastest was Matthew Armstrong who finished in 22mins exactly with a rejuvenated Chris Magowan getting third quickest on the night with a 22:11. With the fast men keeping it close a little further down the field bragging rights were being fought out. Kevin Walker will be delighted to have piped Gareth Woodall by a whole 2 seconds (Should have shaved the legs) and Colin McGready beat both of them by 20 odd seconds. The youngsters were down showing you don’t need a TT bike to go quickly with Jack Ferguson posting a time of 23:36 and Aaron Watson not far behind with a time of 24:05.
Many thanks go to the TVR crew who marshal and organise a great event. There are rumours that the Dromara Crew will be back for the next round on the 15th June possibly all with their new TT gloves, skin suits and shaved legs.
Next week will see a tougher TT course on the Strangford Road in Downpatrick. Please park at the Quoile car park and ride to the start. The handicaps and league positions will hopefully be updated for next week. See you all there.
