Round 18 – Dundrum Line 10m TT
So much for summer as we had thunderstorms crossing the country but thankfully we had a relatively dry evening on the Dundrum line. Hardly a breeze at the start/finish line but that was just to lead the riders into a false sense of security. Around the first corner they would find out that there was indeed a bit of a breeze.
As the club league has gone on the TT discipline is proving very popular with people trying to ‘buy’ speed. What I mean by this is TT bars, aero helmets, skin suits etc. Some riders will tell you it is all about the road bike but when Barry Van K turns up in a gimp….sorry I mean skin suit you know the club league has got serious.
Even with the dodgy weather there were 31 riders testing themselves. A welcome to our latest newcomers the Douglas family who get maximum kudos for fighting all the way to the line. With Matthew only just taking the faster time from James no doubt they cant wait to battle again at the next TT. Also a warm welcome to Monty for showing you dont need a TT bike to go fast by setting a new course record.
From the results below you will see that Gavin produced another great ride to set a Club Course Record with Chris taking second place and Barry not far behind.
With the handicaps added we see Roisin take full points in what is becoming a very close club league.
Many thanks to the timekeepers Deek and Keri, to Ronnie for holding the bikes, Ryan M for taking photos and Gail M for marshalling at the start and Marty McA for his overall management.
Thanks to Jonathan McB and Tommy D for marshalling the crossroads. Thanks to the marshals at the turn Mike B, Noel G and son and Martina H.
