Round 12 – No 16/25 TT this time as change of venue
Due to a tractor run that was happening on the Castlewellan Road there had to be a hasty re-location of tonight’s time trial. Great work by the road committee to sort out a new venue and get it marked for 10 miles.
A tough circuit but the turn is reasonably safe and the start area has a great layby so thumbs up on the safety side.
We had bright blue skies with lovely sunshine but there was a cool wind which took the edge of the heat and was quite blustery for those riding the course.
They say you can buy speed in this sport but just remember you still to ride the bike. As the top Juniors start to get serious with Matthew A sporting a new helmet for the TT and showing that it was money well spent with an awesome time of 26:08.
With Ronnie S and Gavin M not riding tonight Chris M thankfully had Nathan M to keep him honest with both posting great times.
Well done to our new comer Joanne A who I hope will be back next week to post an even faster time. After Lisa’s spill at the NDGP it is good to see her back on the bike although not happy to let the 10 mile course and wind make it hard enough she stuck with the single speed – extra kudos earned.
Many thanks to the big team of helpers tonight. The timekeepers – Gary G, Noel G, Roisin and Beverley. Marshals David H, Ivan B, Kevin McD, Ronnie S, John W and Sean S.
