The Plough Bar 'Up n Over' 2006 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Dromara Hill Climb sponsored by The Plough Bar Dromara was a hotly contested event. Bob came up with the plan of an up and over, to give the heavier riders a fairer chance, but I think the jury is still out on that. Nineteen brave soles including two under twelve tackled the event. Last years winner Ronnie Smyth was determined to retain the Trophy and was even warming up on the rollers. Everyone expected his competition to come from the racing group from Dromara Cycling Club, but it was Banbridge junior rider Sean Downey who took the title by just under 3 seconds. Sean was presented the Trophy by Tanya of the Plough Bar.
