700 turn out for the
Coastal Challenge 2008

North Down Cycling Club's Annual Coastal Challenge
21 June 2008

North Down CC had a superb turn out today for their annual Coastal Challenge around the Ards Peninsula starting and ending at the Bangor Sportsplex.  The event was limited to 700 riders and it looked like the majority of them turned up for the day despite the wet conditions which, as some of the riders had said, were the same conditions as last year!  The route went clockwise around the Peninsula stopping in Strangford for lunch before heading back along the side of Strangford Lough thorough Newtownards and back to Bangor.  The photos below are taken at the massed start which happened punctually at 10 am.  Congratulations to North Down CC for running an excellent event.
