Emma McMullan Memorial Race 2008

Dromara Cycling Club are hosting the second Emma McMullan Trophy road race, sponsored by KJM Electrics of Crossgar on Saturday 14  June 2008.  The race route of Hillsborough - Annahilt - Ballycrune - Annahilt, will ensure a fast open race with little in the way of climbs to break up the rhythm. (see map below).

The race will be 105 km, starting in Hillsborough then heading to Annahilt for 7 laps of the 14km circuit. The finish will be on the Glebe Road Annahilt. Race headquarters will be at Hillsborough Village Centre / Primary School, on the Ballynahinch Road, Hillsborough.

In a change to the advertised Cycling Ireland calendar the race will now start at 1 pm because of traffic concerns rather than the 11.30 in the Cycling Ireland calendar.

  • Changing and showering facilities will be available at the Village Centre with refreshments and sandwiches for all after the race.
  • Sign on will open at 11.30 am and the race will commence at 1 pm.

The event is open to S1, S2, S3, Vet, Junior & Women categories with prizes being awarded to the first eight over the line plus first woman. The race format will be determined on the day by the number entering, either two separate or one handicapped race.

Entries will be accepted on the day but anyone wishing to pre-entry can sent me an e-mail.

Start location here inside the red circle.
