WINDY GAP  CAT 1  AT 33 MILES

This climb can be seen for over two miles as you approach it, dead straight ahead but very misleading. The climb has four steps, as you crest the first you decend into a gulley, which then rises sharply. The last step is of course, the longest.

Stop at the top to get your breath back and take in the best view of the Mourne mountains

Now as you are tired beware, the decent is tricky and lightening fast, with most people getting speeds of 40 mph plus, but some up to 60 MPH. Take care and make it to the much needed tea stop
