League - Round 23 0.6 mile hill climb - Diamond Road, Dromore (map) 5 September 2013 With the nights getting shorter, the club league switches to hill climbs to finish off the road season. The first of these hill climbs took place on the Diamond Hill just outside Dromore. This was the first of three hill climbs and they are not part of the league point system. The club had not used this site since September 2010. Fourteen riders came along to take part on a fine dry evening. The riders gathered at a lane entrance before setting off at one minute gaps to climb the 0.6 mile hill up to the Orange Hall at the top where Martin was waiting. First rider away was junior rider Zak Hanna who improved his time from 2:14.98 in 2010 to 1:49.62 in 2013. There were 4 other riders who competed in 2010 and at this round. Their times are shown below.
Fastest on the night was Gavin with Ronnie second and Ryan Calvert third. Richard Cowan, Nathan Mullan and Zak were the only other riders to finish under 1 minute 50 seconds. Well done to all the riders and thanks to the marshals. Next week is the 4 mile hill climb out at Clonveraghan.
