Dromara CC Club League Round 11 25 mile (or 16 mile) Individual Time Trial - Castlewellan -> Banbridge |
|
19 June 2008 Round 11 of Dromara CC's club league and tonight the riders had a choice of two distances, 16 mile or the more popular 25 mile starting at the Ballymagreehan Road junction 500 metres beyound the horseshoe bend on the Bann Road between Castlewellan and Banbridge (map). The 25 mile TT was for the Peter Jamison Cup which will be presented at the Christmas dinner/Awards night this year. The weather was fine, dry, warm but with a strong breeze, which was a vast improvement to the days earlier wet weather. The road surface was excellent with only the rolling hills to give the riders something to grumble about ! Looking at the riders tonight it was great to see Cyril having a go at his first time-trial and also great to see Deek continue his training this time on the tandem with his nephew 'stoking'. We even had spectators tonight with the well dressed John 'the welsh man' and the more casually dressed Maeve. They had something to cheer about when Davy McKnight finished the '25' just under the hour. Well done Davy. 25 mile time trial
