Ulster Mountain bike Championships
2008
Dunmore Mountain

Saturday 13th September 2008

The Ulster Mountain biking Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Dromara Cycling Club at Dunmore Mountain near Spa, Ballynahinch.

This is the third year that Dromara CC have proudly held these prestigious championships but only the second time that the club have used the Dunmore course.  Special thanks to the landowner, Mr Wightman, for continuing to support this sport by allowing this race to take place. The course will be very similar to the one used in September 2007 with only minor modifications made after the recent heavy rains.  The senior course is approximately 3 miles and winds its way up and over the Dunmore mountain.  From the top of the mountain there are magnificent views of much of County Down and as far as the Isle of Man.

For 2008 Dromara CC there will be cash prizes for the first 3 across the line in each category and for the first 3 Ulster riders in each of the thirteen categories there will be medals (see insert below).

It is hoped that Dromara CC will be able to use this excellent venue to hold the 2009 All Ireland MTB Cross Country Championships.
