Route Description
New from 2003 we have 2
distances; 100 and 130 km.
Both routes meander around the scenic sandy bays and small
ports of County Down, following the coastline as much as
possible. The longer
distance follows the same route as far at the Quoile at Downpatrick
and then proceeds to the stunning protected coastline of Strangford
Lough including Whiterock and Sketrick Island. From the coast the route
turns inland to Saintfield and back to Dromara. The anti-clockwise direction
of the routes should not only give you a different perspective, but
provide you with a tail wind home!

of the most important marine sites in Europe. It has 150 miles of twisting

Coastal Tour 2002
Sunday 19th
May 2002 brought a stormy wet day in which 45 brave soles tackled
the 65 mile route.PHOTOS £165 was raised for
charity. In December
2002 we handed over a cheque for £800 to Shimna Valley Holiday House
in Newcastle. We hope
for good weather and a large turnout for a revised event in
2004....we did,, followed by an even larger turnout last year!
